Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

we brought the kids to go there, the kid can get ranger book there and get the ranger badge if they fulfilled the requirement. There are some exhibits inside, also there may be some workshop or activities can do, (but may need to pay, you can see the park newsletter for details), outside the center, there is a trail you can walk, it's a leisure walk, you can use stroller as well.

They have art classes and wonderful animal exhibit. We learnt so much about the flora and fauna around the area. The staff is wonderful. This is a great place for the jr ranger program and getting into some fun scavenger hunts and learning. Definitely go across the bridges to see some lovely rivers.

The Nature Center was closed between 12 and 1, so I wandered off to explore some of the islands around Happy Isles and returned later in the afternoon.

This is a great place for folks of all ages. Children were creating art, folks were enjoying the displays, and the staff was available to answer questions. After a quick walk through, I continued with my long hiking day.

The so-called nature centre consisted of a shuttle bus stop and a volunteer naturalist seated at a table under an umbrella stand. She had maps and a couple brochures to hand out and dispensed info on the attractions and trails in the area.

We stopped in to see the exhibits and learned a few new things. Really nice feature to grab some art supplies and head out. The surrounding area is a great place to kick back and watch the river run. Wear mosquito spray!!

Although small the Nature Center is packed with information on the Park and its inhabitants. Lots of short walking trails along the water too.

The Nature Center was closed when we were there in December but we really enjoyed walking the nearby short trail across the bridge. That morning the weather was perfect, sun started to shine glimmering the river which in some parts were frozen. It was so quiet and peaceful, no sound except for the flowing water and birds chipping. Nice photo opportunities. To get here, you can walk from Half Dome Village or take the free shuttle.

We took the shuttle out to Happy Isles on the advice of a Park Ranger we chatted to and it was well worth it. The nature centre is small but interesting and engaging for kids-my boys (8&6) enjoyed the displays especially the film showing what bears could get up to! It was pretty quiet too which is unusual for Yosemite on a July weekend!
We then sat on the rocks by the river for a picnic lunch with lovely views and dipped our toes in the water. Further down river people were bathing but the current was pretty strong and you had to climb over the rocks so we didn't feel it would have been safe for the kids to try swimming here (there are plenty of other places where we did swim in the Merced!)

Enjoyed learning new things in this nature center with some interactive displays. Is just a short walk from the shuttle bus.

we hiked around happy isles trails looking for the American dipper but we didn't see one till we walked further along the merced river. At that point we got great looks at the bird diving into the rapids feeding underwater. real cool. the trail up to vernal fails is the most popular so there is no feeling of enjoyment on the walk. Too many noisy kids and people that have no appreciation for the beauty they are surrounded by. I suggest finding another less traveled trail. We did
