We stopped along the road to check out El Capitan. There was a small, insignificant waterfall, at least compared to Bridalveil Falls, just to the west of it that we didn't really pay much attention. It turns out to be the longest single-drop waterfall in North America at 1,612 feet. The peak water volume is mid-April to mid-May running dry... More

It is a tiny thin sliver of a waterfall in early June especially after a light snowfall year. But it was a challenge to find it so glad we saw it.

While it may have the extremes mentioned by reviewers below, it does not measure up to the other sights surrounding it. The rocks of El Capitan, Half Dome, Cathedral, Glacier Point and the Three Brothers as well as Bridalveil and Yosemite Falls are simply so impressive that they overshadow this attraction. There is a place on the valley floor where... More

When you visit the Valley during peak run-off, Ribbon is worth a good look. It would rank very highly on waterfall height lists, if it wasn't seasonal. But if you are lucky enough to be in the Valley on peak run-off days, look for the countless other, nameless, falls and drips just pouring off the edge of the Valley. Amazing.

Many visitors to Yosemite miss seeing this waterfall, usually for one of two reasons. One reason is that is is a highly seasonal fall, flowing mainly in the springtime. It drains a relatively small area, so when the melted snow from that area runs out, Ribbon Fall stops flowing for the year. If you want to see this waterfall, go... More

This is not really an attraction to look for. First of all, you probably won't see it because there is hardly any water in it. I went when the water was flowing in all the other waterfalls and had a hard time spotting it. It is not memorable, except that it is not special. Overall, I would say this is... More
