Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We left Sequoia National Park the day before, sketched out that it was going to be that many people and nowhere to park, stop and enjoy the sights. We were able to stop, stay and enjoy, walk to waterfalls, let the dog out, get the binos out to watch climbers on El Capitan..super cool! We counted 16? Stayed outside the park at Yosemite Lake RV, very nice but spendy.

The hike starts from the Tuolumne meadows camp ground. It's a moderate hike. 3/4 of the hike is steep uphill.the last part is the most beautiful and the views are spectacular. The lake has different entrances and depends where you want to stop and spend some time. A great place for a picnic.

We just came from our Lake Tahoe trip. Since we live in Las Vegas, my husband and I decided to swing by in Yosemite National Park. The park was still closed that time because it was the start of Winter. The gate was opened though so we just went inside and drove around. We did few stops and had lots of photos. I really like its view, a lake and a mountain. The view is so much like a trail in Skagway,Alaska. Few people were there and having fun taking photos, mostly families like us. Very quiet and perfect place if you want to find a serene and if you want to meditate.

This was our greatest moment on our vacation. I'm from Florida and I'm not use to show and while we were 9,000 ft up it started showing really hard and show was all over the tree's and there was a pond around alot of tree's and with the show it was a beautiful site. I had to have a picture of it. There was a big mountain right in front of us as we were drive around the park it was covered with show it was so beautiful to see. We really enjoyed seeing this national park.

This is a beautiful area in a breathtaking national park! During the winter, parts of the park are closed, so just be aware of that.....

I've been to Yosemite at least 8 times. I always do my traveling in the summer, and hike along the Tioga Pass area. This is the greatest hike, with fantastic scenery, and easy to moderate in skill level. It is truly amazing. Waterfalls, interesting buildings, meadows... just magnificent. I've done the entire loop once, and up to the waterfall and back twice.

"100 Hikes in Yosemite" is the book I use to help plan my hikes. One suggestion, if you do the entire loop - keep in mind the trails back there are not really well marked. Go early, take a compass. Take the boat across the lake, then start your hike. It is fantastic.
You can also just hike up to the waterfall, perhaps go a little further, then come back the same path - a much shorter hike, and you see the best of it all.

This is absolutely a must-do hike. Plus, you can make a fun day of it by going through the breathtaking Lundy Pass to the fascinating Mono Lake.

It is around 1100 feet of altitude gain to a high mountain lake at 10,000 feet Great views and very peaceful. There were trout rising in the lake but nobody was fishing. I believe they might be brook trout.

Easy hike from Tuolumne meadows campground to the lake, not strenuous at all, with lovely views of surrounding peaks.

It is not that far and the trail is not difficult although steep during the first mile. We debated whether to take off our shoes and boots wading the last river to get to the lake. It was definitely worth it. I jumped into the icy lake to cool off. There was quite a lot of melting snow on the mountain so my wife's hiking shoes got soaked on the way back. However the hike was amazing.
