This is a beautiful church in an idyllic setting. The inside is only accessible during services, but it is a worthwhile stop on your circuit through Yosemite Valley.

There seemed to be a sermon in progress when I visited so I didn't want to go in and disturb anyone, however it is a nice little chapel. Before you go in there is an area where there are postcards and you can leave money or a donation for the postcards. I got a few of them. The pictures and views of the chapel with the mountains in the background are great.

when you take picture of the chapel, the background of it is just a rock mountain, with some tress, but you can't see any special features, you can see the Yosemite falls, but on the other side, not the same side as the chapel, so you can either take picture of the chapel or take picture of the fall, can't take them together in one single photo. And for this church, it's a real church, I mean still functioning as a church, it has Sunday service on Sunday, (or some other time, you may check with it's website), it only opens when it has worship, otherwise it will be closed and you cannot enter the church for visit.

I had this church on my list of places to stop... glad we did! Stop get out and look around... behind you is a beautiful vista that few ever will see!
The historic church is so beautiful sitting among all the trees... and watch for wildlife!

My whole family traveled to Yosemite in July. Our first stop was by Yosemite chapel and admired a view of the Yosemite Falls from the front lawn. We loved the spot so much that we unloaded our coolers and had a nice picnic. We had an opportunity to meet Pastor Brent in the chapel who was very welcoming and helpful with organization of an entry to Book of Memories for my late husband. It was very heartfelt and beautiful to visit our most favourite place in world.

I ended a long hiking day in June with a rest on the lawn in front of the Yosemite Valley Chapel. It was a marvelous place to look across the meadow to Yosemite Falls. Other visitors were enjoying this comfortable shady spot.

I had hoped that the chapel would be open, but it was not. I have attended weddings in the chapel many years ago, and I wanted to see if it was the same. Oh well. Maybe next time.

The Yosemite Valley Chapel is historic landmark building located in the middle of the valley. This is a wooden chapel built in Carpenter Gothic style in the late 19th century.

The chapel is an attractive little building situated amidst the trees and peaks around the valley. The exterior is quaint, while the interior is simple with a handful of pews, alter and simple wall decor.

Note that this is an active church with regular services. Check their website for service schedule details if you are looking for a place of worship during your time in the valley.

My wife particularly wanted to visit this chapel because the description sounded so enticing. However, it was disappointing as it was locked and there were very few notices.

This is purely a photo op. It's a nice little building with a beautiful backdrop. Stop and take a few pictures and maybe think about where you are for a few minutes and head to the next adventure.

The oldest building in the valley and very pretty from the outside, but unremarkable on the inside. I expected to find wonderful views of the valley and landmarks from the chapel, but no dice.

Located just off the right of Southside Drive as you drive toward Half Dome Village. Can’t miss it.
