Be sure to check for road closures and park closures. This area of the park along the canyon was closed along with some other highlights on the north rim such as inspiration point.

Wow, Just Wow. It is breath taking and amazing. It is like a painting on canvas. So worth the climb. It can be a hard climb for anyone with health issues so just be warned. This is a must see/ do when in Yellowstone.

To be this close to Lower Falls and go below the level of the waterfall is well worth it. We took lots of pictures, because the attraction is a place that reflects the power of nature and the scale of the West. It reflects the...More

Not for anyone that has respiratory issues or unfit as it is a steep hike down and back. There are some 300 stairs one way. It is perforated steel sheeting. Take your time and step carefully. Worth the effort for an spectacular view!

the trail really isn't hard: it's a 30' walk and then a lot of steps, but it's just that: steps. And the view is unique

The parking area is closed for renovation all summer 2017. If you go past the parking area you dead-end/turnaround at Artist's Point.....see our review for parking tips. The stairs are open, but you must go to Artist's Point, park and walk the South rim trail,...More

The hike is very short and the entire descent, viewing (raving), and ascent should take no more than an hour.

In general, National Parks request that people never take animals with them on the paths. I know people love to travel with pets, but out of courtesy to others and regard for regulations, please leave your dog at home.
