This is part of the Norris Geyser Basin area (in addition to the Porcelain basin). This portion involves a little more hiking through the woods, but there are stops at many different and interesting features. It is also interesting to see how the geysers impact...More

This hike is longer than Porcelain Basin, the other trail at Norris Geyser. Definitely worth the effort.

Supposedly there is in the Back Basin a geyser that is the tallest in the world. It's quite hard to find it. I certainly didn't find it. However, I did find some beautiful pine trees. Wow! What intrigued me the most was the Emerald Spring,...More

Back Basin is another wonder to view when in the Yellowstone National Park. The wonders of God's work when in Yellowstone.

This is a nice 1.5 mile hike around geysers and hot springs. If you enjoy the hydrothermal features, this is loaded and has the world's largest geyser. However, Steamboat geyser hasn't erupted since 2005. If you plan to visit Norris, definitely do it before you...More
