Get out, explore - but, take your time. There is so much to see in do around Hayden Valley and so much wildlife but it takes patience. Also, please be respectful - follow the driving/parking rules in the park. This is truly amazing and beautiful country that should be enjoyed by all!

This has rivers, trees, mountains and wildlife, all at the same time. Take a drive past this valley and enjoy the beauty from your car. There is a good chance you will also see herds of animals. We were able to pull over and watch as a huge herd of Bison charged across the plains.

The best place I found to see wildlife while i was there in Aug. It was beautiful and wildlife was everywhere. Can't wait to go back!

We were extremely lucky on our second visit to Hayden valley as we were able to watch a pack of wolves (in distance) and a grizzly bear feeding on a elk carcass. It was once in a lifetime experience as we heard the wolves howling and watching the bear feed on the carcass for more than an hour. There was... More

This was the prettiest valley in the park. It looks like something you would see in a movie. When you drive around the bend and see the open valley it is breathtaking. We saw plenty of Bison here, but the scenery itself was the real draw for us.

Herds of bison seem to cover this area. They happily travel across deep snow and could care less about snowmobiles in the area. The valley is covered in beautiful, clean, shimmering snow. We saw fox, too.

We, thankfully, were able to get through this area before the roads were shut down do to fairly heavy snow during our visit in Sept. It was a wonderful drive and beautiful snow, but we were not able to see all there is to see in Hayden Valley. Weather is unpredictable esp. during the shoulder seasons (Spring and Fall). We... Get up early and come here to see animals as the sun rises. If you are only willing to get up once before the sun rises, go to Lamar, but this is also good. You can see wolves, but will need a scope.

This is beautiful valley. Unfortunately the wolf pack here has been stricken with mange and most of the wildlife spotters set up in Lamar Valley. Without a scope it is challenging to see much wildlife though there are often Bison and Pronghorns along the roadsides.
