Went here on a Wed and it was the best hike we did in Yellowstone. Granted there are over 900 miles of trails and plenty of hiking to do. This was a welcome break from all the hot springs! We hiked to the top of the mountain and came down the side close to Mystic falls. Both the falls and... More

This is a wonderful family hike that starts off in Biscuit Basin. Park in the lot & take the boardwalk to the West end. It's 4 miles there & back if you take the lollipop loop. 2.4 if you just go to the falls & back. It's a great family hike. We took our 4 year old & he did... More

This short (3.5 mile) loop hike is one of my favorites! I hiked it clockwise, climbing to the top of Madison plateau overlook first, and then hiking down past mystic falls. This hike has the beauty of Biscuit Basin's hydrothermal features, including the incomparable Sapphire Pool, a nice 500 ft climb to overlook the Upper Geyser Basin and firehole valley,... More

Nice two mile hike. Not too strenuous. Saw lots of kids on the trail. More than half is along the river which is very pretty and relaxing.

One mile out and one mile back. This is a beautiful waterfall and well worth the short hike. One half of the hike is along the river which enhances the beauty of the scenery. There is a longer hike to an upper view, but several hikers told us that the shorter, bottom viewpoint was much better. Easy to find at... More

You can take the trail to the falls which are lovely and it is not a very difficult hike. If you want something more challenging you can hike the loop for a great view of the Biscuit Basin from the Overlook.

A lovely 2 mile (back and forth) hike which rewards you with fantastic views of mystic falls. Not paved and not very crowded either. Go!

A couple of miles round trip from Biscuit Basin. Walk along a river to Mystic Falls (lower) which is beautifu and then back againl. Optionally, walk up (steep) to the top the falls, over a ridge our over a spectacular view of Biscuit Basin. Stunning views and away from the tourists. Reasonably ardous trail.

Holy Cow! We hiked to the top of the caldera! We saw the sign and thought we would try the hike to the top. The trail is narrow in places and steep. Overall the trail us kept very well and safe. It is somewhat challenging and a little scary toward the top. There are narrow ledges. The view is beautiful!... More

Short hike, reasonably low stress. Falls are very nice, worth the hike. There is a lookout hike that is harder that we didn't do. Have to chose when you hit a fork in the road.
