The boiling river has no signs, no entrance fee and no close-up parking. Ask the locals or a park ranger how to get there...it's near the north entrance to Yellowstone. You have to park on the side of the road and walk in about a...More

Had a great time enjoying this unique experience in Yellowstone. We are annual pass holders and have been for years but never did this until last weekend. It was so much fun! The walk down was icy and slippery. But once you got the river,...More

An interesting experience. Coming from artesian water country I was very curious to experience a different form of naturally heated water. It lives up to it's name, I only got my feet wet which put me close to the hot water stream inlet, get too...More

You have to know where to go because there are not a lot of signs to it, which is good otherwhise it would be to busy. There is a small parking place with a toilet and from there you walk 1/2 mile to the location...More

Amazing piece of nature but you need water shoes and the parking lot is small. There’s a washroom at the start of the walk and the walk is very doable.

It is a hot spring coming out into the river. Car park is too small in a circular form. Bit awkward to park and get out. So far to walk to the boiling point. Small area and too many tourists. Overrated really. We didn't bother...More

Really enjoyed relaxing in this river! The scenery is beautiful. Definitely a must do. Be careful it can be tricky walking to the hot pool in the rocky river.

Hard to find this one but really cool spot. We asked several people that worked there "what's your favorite thing to do in Yellowstone". That's how we've found neat things to do that aren't so well known. Somebody said parking's not great and you have...More

Put on your walking shoes for the 1/2 mile hike. Conditions are primitive. Wear you bathing suit because there is no place to change. Hot springs flow into the Gardner River and rocks have been placed along the edge to slow down the current of...More

You can just put it on the river bank; it won't get wet. This river is more like a creek. If I recall correctly there are a few flat logs that where you can sit or put your stuff on as well.
