Lots of wildlife on the east side of Loop Road. Some pull-offs. We saw a number of different animals including male buffalo who were waiting on "the rut" to begin. Nice drive but expect some traffic backups in the summer as cars pull over to...More

The Grand Loop is about 142 miles long and is perfect for a day trip, and hopefully you have planned out where and what you want to see. If you haven't been there before, perhaps spend a bit more money and take a day tour...More

We loved the road. We saw bisons (two crossing the road), deer and much more. It was a great adventure!

-Most of what you read about Yellowstone refers to the Southern section of the Grand Loop. Surprisingly close to the West Yellowstone entrance (approximately 25 miles) is Old Faithful, a beautiful icon of the park. There is a large parking area but if you don't...More

It's so great that they connected the biggest sights in the park with a big figure eight road. In between the major stops there are tons of beautiful views, scenic lookouts, picnic areas, and hiking trails. This was where we saw the most wildlife too!...More

This is the road that makes a figure eight though the park. It will bring you to all the best attractions you will want to see. Lots of animals on this road.

This loop will get you around the park in one day. But, you won't really have the 'quiet' time you can get by wandering down a trail for half an hour. I think children would be easily bored. Take the time and book a place...More

It's a lot of driving and teenagers may get restless. I was lucky mine loved it and were really appreciative. Some road construction but kept our patience.

Take the Grand Loop Road with the stopovers. Check out the accomodations inside the park. West Yellowstone Village was very touristic for me... Spend a night at West Thumb and/or Canyon Village. Much depends on the weather... More
