In 1872 Congress declared Yellowstone the World's first National Park. The geyser filled preserve that sprawls through Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana still has it's heat and fizz. Old Faithful still sends its plume into the sky every 90 minutes, and in the mesmerizing Fountain Paint Pot, mud still burbles with volcanic gases. It's a short walk from the parking to... More

So beautiful...short walk from parking area. We walked up the trail, turned the corner and saw the most beautiful rainbow at the base of the falls. I think this happens around 9:30 or 10 and is absolutely worth planning your trip to view the falls around trying for the rainbow. It is a special memory of Yellowstone.

Fantastic walk down the trail to see a massive waterfall. Amazing picture opportunity and views. The hike back up the trail is somewhat difficult but doable with several stops.

Visiting here is absolutely gorgeous!! We came here close to midday, and it was a perfect time. The lighting is amazing at that time, where the falls are brilliant!! It's an easy walk down, for my older friends in their 60's did it quite easily. It's also very very nice to take a walk to the right to see the... More

Astounding views not marred by the cloudy skies. Water levels were low and so the falls were not crashing quite as much as during a rainier year. Bring binoculars to watch all the birds!

Oh, man! This fall definitely offers an amazing view. You can see it from various spots along the canyon drive( if I remember the name correctly). I suggest going down the Uncle Tom trail, which offers a close view of the fall, and rainbow on a sunny day. The trail goes down first, then back up. Just one heads up:... More

This was one of my favorite places in Yellowstone. The falls are so incredibly beautiful, loud, misty, scary gorgeous! Such a beautiful place. A must see if you're in Yellowstone.

From any vantage point, this fall is magnificent. Not the largest fall to be found, not even the highest in Yellowstone, still, it is among the most beloved and powerfully evocative, for, if nothing else, it's incredible setting, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. But many below have praised its day to day wonder. Here is a slightly different aspect:... More
