Nice drive to the falls

We drove out to Cascade Falls. The scenery was beautiful and not far out of town. We were with our dog so only ventured down half way. The fall were fairly small but the pretty.

I am sure it is not permanently closed, but closed it was when we visited. It really isn't what I would call a waterfall, more like rapids. We have been before and while it is pretty, the insects were horrendous. This visit the gates were locked across the road. Disappointing.

Now this is better than Evan's Plunge where we paid a small fortune for a swim. This natural water hole is just awesome and so much better than an enclosed pool. The water is fresh and clean, it's quiet cool but really relaxing. Not far out of town it's certainly worth the short drive.

There is no cost and it is located behind what appears to be wayside park. It is not an easy walk. There is a path with several stairs and some are steep. Wide creek/stream with water flowing over rocks. Not much of a falls. Lovely to look at and fun for younger crowd. I would not recommend for seniors. It is about... More

This was a beautiful little swimming hole. We didn't stay long because the water was cold and we were already cold from the freezing overnight temperatures.

Okay, it would have been as great if we'd actually gone swimming like we did when I was a kid, but it was 60 degrees and raining. The water here isn't warm, but it's not snow runoff either, so it's pretty perfect when the sun is shining. Since it was cooler the day I drove through, I just walked through... More

Took our (2) great grandsons and had a very good time. All the people we talked to were locals. The water is warm and there is a deep water swim area below the falls. We didn't expect to find something this cool.

We enjoyed our time at cascade falls. The water was quite chilly, even on a warm day. But it didn't stop our family from making some splashes!

They warn of rattle snakes and poison ivy but if you stay on the trail and in the water, avoiding claiming on the stream banks you'll be alright. It was a little difficult to find- a few miles past cascade springs park! Absolutely beautiful with clear water!

One of the most beautiful, quaint, and amazing places I have ever been to. The water was crystal clear and chilly, but the swimming was amazing and the kids had a blast! There is poison ivy, but it is easy to avoid. LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS PLACE!
