We stayed at the Westin which is directly beside Fountain Square. They had free live entertainment until 11pm. We walked around Cincinnati but came back here. Wished we would have stayed here.

Beautiful fountain (be sure to check it out from all sides) and huge screen TV on the bank across the street. It was a beautiful day and I really didn't want to leave. Great venue for music and lots of restaurants. Parking is available in...More

This is a great spot for tourists to enjoy downtown Cincinnati, there's this gigantic waterfall fountain spewing 4 small statues of children holding a snake with water coming out its mouth, and 1 large statue at the top w/ water flowing from each outstretched hand....More

Very beautiful fountain, but not much else. Great photo op, but unless you are staying for a concert it is just a quick stop. Don't miss the chance for a photo here though.

Nice place to visit downtown. Lots of great restaurants and attractions nearby. Graeters and Servatti's for a nice local treat. Plenty of inexpensive parking under the square. I recommend crossing the street and going up to the roof of the Carew Tower as well.

During the summer they have a live band performing every night (and some lunch times) in the square as well as different food trucks each day. Fun place to hang out, dance or stop and observe the crowds.

We have been visiting Fountain Square for over 26 years! The fountain itself has such history with Cincinnati. The square features multiple events every season. Close to dining, shopping and parking.

Great place to hang out. Located in the heart of the city - and rather the heart of the city - you have so many restaurants, bars, pubs, Greater's Ice Cream, Macy's, and a lot more. This is the place to visit if you are...More

Beware no one warns you that you will be pestered by people asking you for money. We stayed in the Hilton which was really nice but each time we were bothered by beggars and we are just average people not flashy

The chess pieces are at Smale Park on the riverfront.
Is this German market on Fountain Square worth a trip for an out of towner looking for something to do for a couple hours?

I believe that the German market that you are reference is 'Findlay Market' which is on the northwest side of downtown. I think that it is only open during daytime hours. It is better and livelier during warmer months
Is the ice rink there in the summer
