We attended the show Jitney which was absolutely wonderful--from the cast, to the set to the venue itself--it all added up to a very memorable experience! Being from Cincinnati, I have attended plays there often. However, it's good to be reminded what wonderful talent and access to the arts we have right here at home. Seeing Dion Graham was a... More

The Marx theater in the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is a wonderful venue. There is not a bad seat in the house, and all have an intimate feel. We attended the opening night performance of "A Christmas Carol" and found it masterfully acted and directed. While we are most familiar with the story, this performance was presented as a... More

I have been attending Playhouse performances for over 50 years and can say that most were superb and some even the best theatre I've ever experienced. The setting is enchanting and with added refreshments, one can eat before a show and make an evening of entertainment, or go to nearby restaurants. Truly a Cincinnati gem, and Tony award winner.

I've gone to Playhouse in the Park for several productions now, and I've been very satisfied with each experience. The quality of the performances and the theatre are remarkable, and going to see a play truly makes for a great outing!

My wife wanted to see a particular play as she had read the book, so, cheapskate me agreed to buy tickets. This is only about the venue and not the play. Very nice venue and like a dolt I entered into this thing thinking it was a theater in a park, outdoors, with creative but cheap sets. Nope, very nice... More

I love going to the Playhouse--it has a wide variety of shows for many tastes, including standards and even some of my favorite type: edgy, "geo-socio" that are risk-taking and provocative. Always a great performance, well and imaginatively staged, whatever the play. Well worth the price.

I cannot believe how long it took me to make it to a show here! The seating and stage set up is quite unique and the acting is top-notch. The ticket prices are not low, but the performances are worth every penny.

Last weekend we saw Bad Dates during a weekend trip to Cincinnati. It was an fun little show - really more for women than the men, but my husband said he found it entertaining. The theater is small - which is really lovely - not a bad seat in the house and it is also very affordable.

As a season ticket holder for 38 years, this is one of my favorite venues for theatre in the world, whether the Marx Theatre or the Thompson Shelterhouse. Season productions are always chock full of new experimental or funny plays and some of the old standbys. They are always done well, in a fabulous theatre, with options for dining before... More

Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park sits atop Mount Adams outside of downtown Cincinnati. The complex, which houses two stages is very nice, with a shared lobby and large restrooms. Parking is plentiful in the area, and free outside of the garage, but be prepared to walk a bit. And while the seating in the Marx Theatre is not the most... More
