Nothing spectacular but it’s free and well worth 30-60 minutes. The video in the visitor center is well done. The walking trail of the area is also well done. Go up to the monument—-the view is great on a clear day.

I was impressed that neither "manifest destiny" or "noble indian" trope dominated this presentation. I have substantial knowledge of the Whitmans, less of the native Americans, and found this exhibition informative. Do walk to the top of the hill, a short hike, and get a...More

This is a good stop. This site tells the sad story of the native populations. Small visitor center and displays tell the story well. Very knowledgeable staff at the visitor center.

I had a great experience here. There is a short video, displays of the Native American people and the environment during the time. Also, there is a pleasant walk with interesting information along the way.

This is a fascinating national site that does a great job of explaining the cultural environment in which the mission existed. The grounds are set up to show where mission buildings were. There is also information on ecology. It was the perfect addition to approaching...More

Whitman Mission was built by missionaries to the Indians and early settlers. No original buildings remain at this early settlement in Eastern Washington, now with a great little museum and trails for energetic young children. Views from the monument hill are of the whole Walla...More

This place is full of fascinating stories if you have a bit of time to spend with a park ranger in the visitor center and watch the film. Definitely watch the film which is about 25 minutes long. Then walk the site and enjoy a...More
