It is an old museum stuffed with fascinating relics. Much of the signage is old, and therefore interesting as a reflection of how southern white society viewed the civil war. The upstairs courtroom is beautiful. I was surprised to see a couple of things in...More

There is so much history in the courthouse and the surrounding area - not to be missed. There are a lot of stairs - but so worth the climb.

Very impressed with this museum. The courtroom upstairs was brilliant and there are loads of artefacts and photos to make this visit very interesting indeed. Also has a very good gift shop which is not overly priced.

Great little Museum and historical building. This was the epicenter of the city during the siege of Vicksburg. Museum has a nice selection of historical artifacts and a nice gift shop. Can be seen in 45 minutes and well worth it.

This museum is chock full of memorabilia, artefacts and ordnance from America’s civil war. It depicts the siege of Vicksburg and its eventual capitulation in 1863. Other items on display include the old courthouse and other historical items from the 20th century.

This is a must see when in Vicksburg. You can feel the history when you step into the courthouse. Lots of confederate and local history.

The museum is full of interesting artifacts and ranks among the best in terms of the rich knowledge of staff. Semi-retired former museum director Gordon Cotton is only there on Thursdays and Saturdays. If you love history, storytelling and traveling back in time, plan extra...More
