It is like stepping back in time. This museum has a great and often unique Civil War collection that has been there so long there is dust in the cases. I have been to many CW museums and found many one of a kind things here. The chair that Grant used, pants from a Confederate soldier hardly worn, a vase... More

We ran out of time to tour inside of this Courthouse, but was told it was a wonderful museum. I walked around outside and took some great pictures and will definitely want to go back and see inside someday. It'd full of historic artifacts from Civil War era.

This building exudes history! It's rooms are absolutely crammed full of information And items dating from well before the Civil War until the turn of the 20th century. For the less mobile, exhausted or heat intolerant, this one building captures much of the essence of Vicksburg and its place in Southern and American history. Entry is very inexpensive. There is... Has pretty good displays and discussions on the Civil War and life in Vicksburg. Not real children oriented.

The Old Courthouse is more than just an artistic building. It is actually a museum full of lots of artifacts and tons of history. The new/current courthouse is located across the way and is an awful art-deco style bldg. and is nothing compared to this one. There is a nominal charge to enter the museum, but it is well worth... I love old buildings and could not pass this one by. We stopped and discovered so much history in this one building. There was a small charge to enter the museum but we'll worth the fee. There were so much history to look at from wars, court room, court cases, Victorian items and so many more items. The gentlemen their... More

Standing since before the siege of Vicksburg, the building is packed with Civil War items as well as other quite unique donations that give you a surprise around every corner. No elevator, but there is a chair ride up the stairs operated by friendly and informative staff.

A must see in Vicksburg. The museum is very thorough with artifacts of the civil war period. Beautiful building day or night. At night it's all lit up. Definitely worth a stopover.
