While there are 1,300 monuments and markers in this military park, which at times appears confusing, someone has taken great pains to mark each significant milestone about what happened here during the civil war. I only wish the visitor center had a relief map that...More

First off, you go to the museum registrar and attend the movie summarizing the north and south's civil war-----interesting enough you will set through it at least twice.

I only wish that we could have gotten out to actually read some of the monuments. They represent both sides of the war and show how many states were actually involved. Great for history buffs.

I cannot say enough about this Park. The reverence you feel looking at the ground that young men fought upon for what they believed. It really put so much in perspective, looking at the hills they had to climb to risk their young lives. The...More

Get a guide, get a guide, get a guide! Call Louis Logue, cell phone 601-529-1672. He'll drive your car through the park, with stops along the way as he describes the battle, the strategies, the terrain, the legends and the stories. Cost $50-$60. More than...More

Our docent/guide stepped onto the bus and took us into another world, peopled with story both large and small, pathos, chaos, humanity and horror. So well done.
