Good view and more locals here. A lot less people. Be aware of the jelly fish or man-of-war in the water especially after rain. The beach is not as good as Waikiki but OK. But you can do something here and then go to the...More

This place is really part of the park along the waterfront in Ala Moana. Not sure what is special other than that it has an artificially-enclosed lagoon. The lagoon is mostly but not totally protected from waves so it's a safe place to swim especially...More

the place is attached to ala moana beach park. Fridays are the best time to visit. There will be people doing get togethers, chants, dance etc. You can grab some food and enjoy eating seeing sunset, it will be great if you are in a...More

Really nice park with a beach that has plenty of room. Nice sunset views as well. A little out of the way though.

While Waikiki beach is too crowded, this beach is less crowded so if you are looking for a quiet place/beach to hang out, you should go here. The waves are not big either so kids can play in the water.

We just had to see where Kamekona's shrimp truck parks. Thrilled to be at the place where Hawaii 5-0 films and McGarrett and Williams film but disappointed they were not filming the day we were there.

Easy walk from Prince Waikiki Hotel/marina area. Great spot for viewing and photographing sunsets. Parking areas very full here - best to walk if possible. Located adjacent to Ala Moana beach and across street from Ala Moana Mall.

Although of course Magic Island is close to Waikiki, it feels less touristy. We went here probably 7 times during our stay in Waikik, to see the sunset. Sunset is always amazing here, but I mainly loved the relaxed athmospher. People running, doing yoga (...More

We lived in Waikiki for 8 months, and could see Magic Island from our condo. I walked there daily, and was forever changed by being a part of the welcome home for the Hokulea from her 3 year journey around the world. It was truly...More

Walkable in about an hour and a half. Lots of benches, very clean and good mix of local and tourist. Close to downtown and Ala Moana mall. Great location!

No, I have not seen any barbeque grills at Magic Island park. There are picnic tables but no grills. Most people bring their own mats, chairs and find a place to set up either in the grass or near the beach. Many bring their... More
