The park is best utilized for swimming early in the morning, the water is cleaner at this time. It is at the "mouth" of the Ala Wai canal which has run-off from streams and the golf course emptying into the canal. Overnight the currents clean out the beach, but the more "bodies" in the water during the day the worse... More

In all the times we've been to Hawaii, we've never been to this park. We ended up spending hours here sitting on the benches people watching (lots of wedding pictures being taken and taking in the oceans views and Diamond Head. There is a nice flat walking path and a lagoon that is great for kids. It's a nice and... More

A good place to walk, watch canoe races, and chill at sunset. Five-O films here often, because of the lovely views. A favorite for Japanese wedding photos, too.

I came down for a quick Saturday afternoon skate at sunset which was absolutely beautiful! The path is smooth and wide and there's plenty of room to dodge runners and cyclists, and it has great beach/ocean views the whole way round. The park is full of barbecues and wedding parties at that time of night, it's a very popular spot.... More

Spent a day here while in Waikiki for 8 days. Great little lagoon located at the end of ala moana park. excellent shelter from the open ocean and a great calm place to swim for children. lots of parkinf available and a great place to watch the fireworks on friday nights.

We didn't spend a lot of time here, but came here to see the Hilton's Fri night fireworks. The locals have obviously figured out this is the best place to come and see them. Lots of parking, people picnicing and great views with the skyline of the city.

This is my favorite park to walk around in Waikiki. Every morning I took a walk around Magic Island through Ala Moana Park. There are lots of locals walking, exercising, running and just enjoying the morning. Grab a coffee and get there early enough so you can watch the light come up over Diamond Head and it turns the whole... More

This was a place recommended by our condo manager and we loved it. First off, FREEEEEE and easily accessible parking which is right next to the beach which makes it much easier to unload/load the kiddos and stuff. The beach sand is a bit rough with rocks and continues into the sea a bit, but the lagoon is almost wave... More

Not the most picturesque beach on the island, but has its perks. Easy parking, grassy and sandy areas for picnics. Great spot to watch fireworks!

So nice and peaceful here You hardly see any people compared to the chaos at Waikiki beach Anyone with small children will certainly appreciate this park Great walking/ jogging track around the park as well There are some homeless people camping around the park but they tend to stay away.
