About
This scenic 150-foot-tall falls is only accessible via a hike through the rainforest. It's a 1.5-mile round trip, which takes about an hour or two from the trailhead. Wear good shoes as the path can get muddy and slippery, and bring bug repellent and plenty of water. Manoa Falls is a great photography spot, and the location has featured in movies and television shows like Jurassic Park and Lost. Cool off in the pool at the base of the falls and grab a snack and a refreshing pineapple smoothie for your walk back to civilization. – Tripadvisor

    Good workout, great scenery
I’d say this was a moderate level hike. It’s a very rocky, uneven uphill climb and it’s wet (even when it’s not rainy) and slippery. We are a relatively fit family and we were beat afterwards, especially with the high humidity. I highly recommend good shoes, especially for the way down because it’s a lot of pressure on your toes. And your shoes will get some mud on them, no matter how hard you try. Although I did see some people in crocs and slides, I don’t recommend that. We went around 10am and it was quite crowded. The waterfall was a bit anticlimactic for us, but still glad we did it!

    Beautiful hike
Nice hike, beautiful scenery. We went there around 9am and so it was not so hot. It rained a bit. Some areas are 35 to 40 degree incline terrain, have to walk slow. Its going to be muddy. On the 2nd floor of the snack store, there's a faucet you can use to remove mud from shoes. We used good grade water shoes.

    Beautiful scenery
We took a taxi to the area nearby and then from there we hiked up to the top of the falls. The difference in the climate here and in Waikiki which was only about 20 minutes away was so contrasting. The falls were really pretty and we even got to see a dart frog and gecko as well!

    Pretty good hike
Hike was more challenging than I expected. The end gets very steep. There were plenty of people on the trail of all ages. It was pretty muddy and slippery due to recent rain. Swimming is not aloud and there are signs clearly saying so, but there were people climbing down there to swim.

    Great to see
The hike will get your shoes muddy. But it was worth seeing the waterfall. My first time seeing a waterfall and it was really cool to see. Walking through the forest felt like being in the movie Journey 2. It was really fun, but make sure you bring water.

Beautiful waterfall at the top of a muddy hike
We loved this shaded hike up to the beautiful waterfall. The hike is dirt/mud/rocks so wear sneakers or secure sandals. There is a place to wash off your shoes after the hike, and I recommend bringing a change of shoes. The hike can be steep at times and you will walk up and back down the same trail. The trees are so lush, and there are plenty of places to stop along the way and take pictures of the rain forest. While there were signs that discouraged going into the waterfall, there were some people who ventured into the falls anyways. FYI - you won’t be able to take a stroller on this hike. Enjoy!

    Waterfall Hike
The hike to the falls took about 30 minutes and was very muddy. The views are spectacular and the falls are stunning. They warn you not to swim but we saw people swimming. The water was very cold. We went on a Saturday morning and it was very crowded. Would definitely go again.

    Great hike, close to Honolulu
Very nice rain forest hike close to Honolulu. We're hiking shoes or good sneakers with a tread. Lots of rocks and moisture on the trail. A hiking pole would not be out of place. The falls were more of a slow stream in Sept but you could still see the beauty of them and the surrounding area even though they weren't flowing heavily. Beautiful views along the way too. Mostly an ascent on the way out and decent on the way back.

Nice hike even in dry season (october)
Easy-moderate hike, i would recommend wearing shoes not sandals, and prepare to get muddy. Beautiful rain forest, takes about 35 min there and back if you're walking swiftly. The fall was beautiful for its size alone (100 ft), but apparently we went during the dry season (though we still needed ponchos), and the fall was more like a light trickle. Still a nice outdoor activity. Prepare for traffic jam and parking issues if you don't arrive first thing in the morning; we ubered for about $20 from waikiki with no issue.

    Mango Falls Climb
Active climb but no water fall at the top of a steep climb. Maybe in the rain season. Very lush but disappointed there was no water. We went Oct 22nd. So plan accordingly and check reviews before going.

Beautiful hike. Not too far from Waikiki, all fitness levels and a pretty waterfall at the end. Other trails stem off of this trail if you are up for extending your time out. Bring bug spray and water and make sure you are in proper footwear. There are nice rock steps but, some uneven ground. It is in the mountainside and trees so it can get wet. Bring a poncho if that is something that concerns you.

This is almost one mile uphill to get to the falls. The trail is rocky, muddy, and slippery in places making it more of a moderate hike than an easy hike. You pay to park, but entry to the trail is free. The trail is a beautiful hike through the rainforest. There are signs warning not to swim in the water. There were quite a few people on this trail.

Moderate hike, took us around 1 hour to complete. It does get steep at some parts and a little muddy if it has been raining, but the greenery on the way to the waterfall is gorgeous and there’s a nice viewing platform for the waterfall at the top.

Good hike. Not too long. lots to see along the way. like walking on a rocky river bed with some slick clay - like soil covering the rocks so you need to take care as you walk. All ages can do this. If you are a geocacher, there are a few caches along the way. Parking could be a challenge but we were lucky to get a spot. Would recommend for a nice morning stroll.

If you like nature and a light hiking challenge, you'll find it here. The hike is pretty much all uphill getting to the falls, and the terrain is very rocky and uneven. It had rained before I went so a little extra caution on the slippery rocks was necessary. Don't count on the destination to "wow" you. It's a fairly tall falls, but more like a small stream coming down the mountainside. The pool at the base is off limits because of a disease having been found there. I couldn't say how popular the hike is on a regular basis, but it was quite crowded the day I went.

Beautiful hike! The path is uneven from rocks and can be slippery. If you have hiking poles, you should bring them. Be sure to bring water and stop along the way to notice the beautiful greenery as you are walking. The waterfall was trickling down, and you are not allowed to go into the water. There are many beautiful stops along the way for photo shots.

Very rocky treacherous trail. Large rocks need to be addressed in order to walk. Trail is steep in places. Would not recommend for people who do not exercise. Bring your water too. Insects were not bad at all. At the end of the trail the reward is beautiful.

My wife and I did this hike and it was very much so worth it. We took public transportation (bus) from Waikiki just enter in the destination on your phone and click public transportation and the correct bus stops and bus number came up, also very safe transportation and made a breakfast stop at Yogurt story on the way, highly recommended. The bus leaves you about .25 mile from the falls entrance and it’s a beautiful walk to the falls and even better hike. If you do this hike after or during a rain the too close to the falls gets a little slippery so just wear good shoes, this was a easy, hike that I recommend for mostly everyone don’t let the slippery part scare you I just don’t recommend flip flops. We didn’t get in the water at the falls due to the bacteria that was warned about. After the hike we took the bus back to Waikiki and had a great day.

We enjoyed every step we took here. Although the water was too cold for us to get in, it was absolutely beautiful. I'd definitely put this on the top places to see.
