Humm, Hawaii Kai GC is probably up there with your local muni course. There are some scenic views to be had at some holes. I do like the layout and the challenge. Some holes require you to work the ball if you are a long hitter unlike some of the newer courses where you can just bomb it down the... More

If you want a round of golf with little service level from staff but good putting greens and fairways ok too give it a go. It is a crowded course but our three still got in the round in 4 hours. Everyone at this place lacks enthusiasm in what they are doing.Except the catering staff who have a smile and... More

The course is on the drier side of the island, and the course has some rough areas as a result, but the ocean views are quite beautiful. The biggest problem is they allow groups of 5 and 6 to play, and that really, really slowed things down. We were behind two groups of 5, then a group of 2, and... More

If this is hawaii golf at it's worst, I'll take it. True, it reeks of muni golf, and the amenities are muni caliber... but it's a fun layout, with excellent greens (the best I played all week). You get ocean views on half the holes, and koko head overlooks the course. I paid $105, which is a bit much, but... More

Staff not friendly. Had to load my own bags onto cart. Allowed too many players on at last moment. No ranger for most of round. Had players hit into us several times. Play way too slow. Greens were too slow. Will never go back

I am an avid golfer HDCP 9 that plays 4X a month mostly on the Ewa side of the Island. My group decided to play Hawaii Kai recently and here are my comments: THE GOOD: the starter was gracious and offered a discount/yardage book. The weather was awesome...now for the rest of the round THE BAD: When checking in, I... More

The course is super easy for beginners. $60 for 18 holes, rentals, and a cart is a steal. Beautiful views from the course and nice breeze to cool you down a bit. My wood broke in the middle of the play so we expected that we will be charged for it ($40/missing club..we were told) but we weren't. Nice :)

I found Hawaii Kai to be an extremely boring and poorly maintained course particularly as they charged $125 for a round and charged my wife $50 for the pleasure of joining me in the cart. The course is short and wide with very few obstacles to negotiate and I strongly advise people look elsewhere for golf on Oahu. I was... More

This place should be shut down. It is an embarrassment. The "pro shop' smelled of mildew and the entire facility looked like it was about to fall down. There are rusting buildings, broken sidewalks and walkways and burnt out grass everywhere. I told a friend of mine that if someone handed me the deed to this place I wouldn't take... More
