Hanauma Bay is always a special place to visit and snorkel. I was surprised at the number of people at the Bay this trip but there was plenty of room for everyone. We were fortunate to see a turtle on one of our visits and we also saw two eel. This is such a beautiful place. I think the snorkeling... More

I snorkelling for the first time in my life and it was fantastic, they have plenty of restrooms, you get to see a film before going down and understand what this little bit of heaven is all about.

Simply put, a visual treat. Beautifully maintained and gorgeous to behold. The preserve exists in its pristine state while allowing access to visitors daily. Large volcanic reefs just below the waterline, beautiful blue waters and sea turtles making regular appearances. The park is closed Tuesday's for nature relief and maintenance

Take the 22 bus out for $2.50 or a $20 uber, there is a 9 minute compulsory video then a $7.50 entry fee. $20 to hire a snorkel and fins - pretty steep so take your own if possible. Probably need 2-3 hours to enjoy the view and get a few snorkels in! Not a swimming or activity beach as... More

We took a city bus (The Bus - Rte 22) from our hotel in Waikiki ($2.50 exact change) to Hanauma Bay, about a 40 minute ride. The bay is gorgeous. $7.50 fee & 10 minute film. 5 min walk down to beach. Tram available for $1.25 each way. Restrooms, freshwater showers, snorkeling gear rental available. Lockers $8-10 small/ 'large'. Water... More

Definitely a pristine location on O'ahu and worth the early trip to make it through the gates before the crowds try to arrive. But, if you arrive when the gates open, just be aware that the snorkel rental doesn't open until 08:00. So, if you wish to snorkel before 08:00, I would recommend that you bring your own set of... We went to Hanauma Bay when the surf and winds were higher than normal. The best part was the cove is protected from the wind so even on a cloudy day the wind isn't a real factor. The snorkeling was good, the coral runs all the way to shore in some parts so getting in and out might be a... More

nice secluded area but you got to pay ($7) each to use the beach and it's a buck to just enter with a car

Spent several sunny hours lazing about and snorkeling at Haunama. Tourist spot - yes - but I and my friends (who are locals) had a wonderful time. Wide sandy beach and gentle waves, perfect for swimming and exploring. Outdoor shower area to rinse off. Info stand where you can learn about marine life. Can rent snorkel gear (although I rented... We went on quite a windy day on a blue line double decker open air bus, it started to rain and our driver gave us plastic ponchos. We were all laughing through the wind, rain and it was also hot. We were soon dry and visited the blow hole and then went to Hanauma bay and it was just beautiful.... More
