This bay is gorgeous and you can take beautiful pictures with its 50 shades of blue! It's good for snorkeling as there is a good variety of fish to see. However, our concierge recommended going early in the morning for better visibility in the water and she was right. We went at noon after doing a few stops around the... More

This place was awesome! Really informative on the history of Hawaiian Royalty, their fishing techniques, the live stock that inhabits the waters. There were people whom came just to hangout as beach goers, I wouldn't recommend this... it's pretty rocky and there's really no swimming area. However if snorkeling is your thing, there's no better place on Oahu; there were... More

must sit thru a 30 minute orientation on preservation but a good one. 7.50 each to enter and 5.00 each round trip on the tram which was well worth the money. go prepared because they don't sell food or drink at bottom but they do have lockers for rent at 8.00+ depending on size. weekdays are best and closed on... Had heard to go early but didn't and the parking lot was full. We did Park at a nearby scenic overlook and hike to see it but were unable to snorkel. Make sure to go early - I believe it opens at 6am, we were there around 10.

Beautiful views, lots of friendly families, our kids love the place, fun snorkeling for beginners and experienced people alike, lifeguards on duty but still be cautious of your surroundings..... Bring drinks, a lunch and or snacks if you are going to be there for a while. There is a food place at the top of the hill but it's a... More

The highlight of our trip. We were able to identify dozens of fish swimming near the reef. Recommend getting there as early as possible (beat the crowds and also the morning light makes it easier to spot the fish). The entire time we were there it felt surreal. Would return to Hanauma Bay if we come back to Honolulu. Great... More

This is a great place to snorkel or scuba. We even went on a rainy day with no sun and it was still awesome to see all of the fish and coral, I'd imagine a sunny day would be 10x better!

We were taken there by a tour company, supplied with mask, fins and snorkel and dropped at the top of the bay. We got there early, around 10 am so plenty of parking still if you wish to drive. It is a steep walk down the hill to the bay but there is a small train that will take you... More
