This Beach is Iconic, Think second world war, care free day in the sun and tropical warm water Ukeleles and wahine performing the Hula. The Bikini had just been invented and Dukes was just a shack on the beach. Then came Pearl harbour attack and everything...More

Although this beach is rather slim (i.e. Not much space between the promenade and water) it is immaculately clean with plenty of shade as well. The water is clean and safeC with swimming-like pools created which break the waves to create a more pleasant experience.

Not generally my scene to go to a beach like this, but much like seeing Hollywood when you're in LA, it's too iconic to miss. My son is a surfer, so a visit to this beach was a must. Kind of fun to have a...More

I travel a lot, but my week in Waikiki was by far the best vacation I've ever been on! Can't wait to go back.

This beach is really breathtaking. From the early hours of the day until sunset AMAZING. Be careful though with all the box jellyfish that come to the shore 9-10 days after a full moon. If they sting you though it only lasts 10 mins and...More

Spent a few days at the beach in Waikiki, I even managed to take a surfing lesson with cousin Duke. It almost got up on 2 legs and travelled about 30-40 metres. Water temperature was beautiful and the surf was quite manageable. I recommend spending...More

Loved that you could rent floaties, chairs and umbrellas to avoid the stress of taking it yourself. Water clear and nice and deep for pleasant swimming.

Swim in the ocean, surf the smaller waves, lay on the beach, play with your children in the sand, and enjoy the safe atmosphere of this beautiful location.

Of course when you are in Honolul you have to go to Waikiki Beach. Yes, it is nice but I have seen much better beaches. Go and watch the sunset there as it is quite spectatcular.

Sure it's beautiful, but it's filled with resorts that take away from the true beauty that the island can offer. I suggest getting an AirBnB, a rental car and taking a drive, you'll find much more peaceful places.

I've been to Waikiki beach practically every summer since my early teens and I've never needed water/reef shoes. The sand isn't powder smooth, it feels a bit grainy, but it's not enough to cut/break skin. I've gone out... More
