Its a must to see and hard to miss right on Waikiki beach. Its beautiful both day and night. It is slightly hard to get on without someone pphoto bombing it though.

Probably the most photographed person on the beach! The statue is central and it gives the idea that locals are important to the history of Waikiki and rightly so!

It is a meeting place and an iconic place in Waikiki. Always Leis around his neck. Beautiful view of the beach and ocean.

Duke is the father of surfing. He was won the most olympic metals of any Hawaiian: for swimming. There are fresh leis on his arms every day. It is worth a visit and picture before hitting the Waikiki beach.

We didn't specifically seek this monument but rather seen it passing. It's petty cool. You certainly don't have to pay to see it. It's right on the sidewalk.

Tourism brings people to Hawaii, and beaches, beautiful people, sunshine, etc. Always know one thing about a place before you go. In Oahu, more than anything else, learn about history of Duke Kahanamoku and you'll understand Hawaii.

Right in front of the beach. Great location. Statue has info in front. Great backdrop of the beach and water.
