Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did a bit of snorkeling here in the morning. Lots of beautiful fishies! Larger but gentle waves made the water was a bit cloudy, but we were still able to see a lot! Great beach, lots of families with little ones enjoying the waves. I heard monk seals come visit, next time we’ll try to come earlier in the morning and see if we can catch a glimpse.

We stayed at a hotel on the beach, so we were on the beach daily for sunrises and sunsets. It's nice and quiet, and you can always find a spot. On the last day, we did have an issue with the lifeguard yelling at my daughter for taking a picture (the picture shows how far away she was from him; not even near the water either) because he said she was blocking his view. He said it on the microphone in a sarcastic way to humiliate her. You can probably guess why. She was in tears. I wanted to go out with her to help her finish the Tik Tok that she was so excited to do even before we left. She was just over Oahu because there had been so much of the same treatment, even from the hotel staff.

Know that through May 2023 and possibly into the month of June, Kaimana Beach is fully closed, so hotel guests interested in relaxing surfside must walk a quarter to a half mile toward Waikiki, to access public beaches. This is due to a monk seal cow birthing a pup on April 21st, and now feeding that pup for four to seven weeks or more. The hotel isn't making this information available to guests, so just be aware. If you're idea is to vacation at an oceanfront hotel and enjoy the beach there, wait until they can confirm that the seal and her pup have moved on. Also, if you are booking the "Park Wing", a two-storey annex on the street side of the hotel, know that some rooms overlook the parking lot and offer no view other than autos and a busy motor way. Our room (203) was very nice, but using the room's balcony pretty much out of the question, for the noise, the view of the lot, and the lack of privacy.
Tip:If you intend to sunbathe or relax on the beach, confirm that the beach has re-opened. It's expected to be closed through May 2023.

A nice stretch of sand that does get quite busy even though it is some distance from Waikiki's main beach. Rocky and her seal pup were here during our visit so parts of the beach were fenced of but that didn't stop swimmers swimming around the barrier once they were in the water. I guess you just can't educate some people. I do hope that at some future date the Natatorium will get some much needed restoration.

We really enjoyed this beach. It was a bit crowded, but we anticipated that. We liked it better than Waikiki, less commercial. Lifeguards were nice. Access was easy, go in the early AM for a parking spot. Small beach with great access. We appreciated the outside showers. The beach was clean and everyone was especially friendly. Food near by, but bring everything you need for the day and you would be better off. Shade gets taken up quickly, bring a sun shelter.

I love this beach especially strolling along the front of the war museum and strolling and taking a walk along the back of the Waikiki aquarium (-:

Ok- this place is really why I go to Hawaii, but it's small and quiet and probably not up to everybody's taste. It tends to have local families with kids. Crowded on weekends. .

Actually, it’s must be more fun to stay in the beach area sometimes. The beaches can be crowded, with locals. We like the friendly staff, they are welcoming and very friendly! We often attend with the visitors. It’s great to know a few more folks, as well.
