Fort DeRussy Beach Park is a grassy park and less crowded sandy beach.

The grassy park leads to the sandy beach. Less crowded than Waikiki beach.Steps from many hotels and shops.

Right on the beach which makes it a handy stopping point if you need to get out of the heat for a while. Like almost everywhere else in Oahu - it's clean and well maintained

Fort DeRussy is a great little park right in the middle of wakiki. We especially enjoy the grills near the beach. Add coals, throw on the meat, potatoes and veg and sip a beer or 2 while it cooks up. Donèt be an idiot with the beers, keep them concealed and be respectful and no one will car if youère... More

There is a beautiful city park surrounding this public beach. It was quite busy on the day we were there with very little space to walk along the beach. There is lots of recreational opportunities from volleyball to surfing. There is incredible scenery and there is a bus stop just around the corner.

Beautiful tree covered park with great places to relax and read. The pool looked great though we did not use it. Many other activities available.

We stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki and being the history buff, I had to visit Fort Derussey. We walked along the beach to get there and visited the forts Museum, really a great historic place to visit. Later we came back and noticed the beach here had few swimmers, so we decided to give it a go. Wrong!!! Not a... More

We parked across the street in a pay lot. Huge grassy area with trees and picnic tables. Water gear for rent. Food concessions. Beach area relatively quiet compared to Waikiki. Army Museum is on the grounds. Parking lot is also good for shopping along Kalakaua Ave.

This park is a very good place to relax. I was there last January. The location is wiyhin walking distance from Hilton Hawaian Village. This park is beautiful with plenty of trees, not only oalm trees, but many other kind of trees and flowers. Next to it there is a army museum, that I regret I didn't visite it. From... More

The museum is in an actual fortified defensive enclosure for two big guns that could be raised to fire and lowered that it was built before WW 2. So, the building itself is very interesting, as are the exhibits. It is free and situated beautifully in the park.

We loved walking along this beach path each morning throughout our stay. It is very isolated from any vehicular traffic and provides gorgeous views of the beach.
