Highly Recommended We went to Luau with 14 adults, 3 children, and 4 very young children (so they were free). The experience was top notch, the food was just fine, the service was excellent, the drinks kept flowing. The 7 children had a life time...More

We visited this luau a couple of years ago and I have to say it's gone downhill in that time. Firstly, the show was moved indoors due to threat of rain even though it was clear as a bell outside. We weren't informed and as...More

The show itself and entertainment is wonderful! The buffet leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, it continually rained when we visited, which cannot be helped, but it was quite miserable queuing up for ages in rain ponchos for a meal. Tables are called up...More

Attended the rooftop luau in the rain. Had expected that there was a cover over the tables given that rain is a common occurrence however there was nothing. Instead the chairs were wet, the soaked tablecloth dripped on your legs, camera lens's were potentially damaged,...More

We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village & decided to try the Waikiki Starlite Luau. My 11 year old is a picky eater, but she loved both the Luau & the show. Luau has a large food selection with a special section for kids, brilliant....More

Grit your teeth and pay the price. This is one of those must see tourist experiences. The hula dancers were lithe and amazingly flexible. Never mind that they looked more like Phillippinas than native Hawaiians. The male dancers were tattoed hunks who put on a...More

We were a group of 23 that were suppose to have an entire table for ourselves but they split us up. We were rushed in as the pre-show was already taking place, took our group photo, hustled drinks into our hands and showed us to...More

Beautiful music, delicious food and a very entertaining show! It was calming to watch the graceful Polynesian dancing of the young ladies and then to watch the strength of the men dance with song, haka and fire to represent our pacific families. We met some...More

No luau atmosphere. Situated a couple of floor up, outside but surrounded by concrete high rise hotels and apartments. The food was poor, boring and unappetizing and did not reflect the cultural celebration of a traditional luau which is what we were promised. Seemed to...More

We visited this on an evening it was supposed to rain, so it was held indoors. The meal was blah. The dancers were great but I feel the money could have been better spent elsewhere. The show itself was less than an hour long. Look...More

The Hilton has fireworks Friday nights. Can you see the fireworks from the Luau location?

The luau is not held on the rooftop on Fridays. Instead, there is something held on the lawn adjacent to the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon. Not sure about the view from there.

I've been reading the reviews, both positive and negative. Still uncertain that we would do this. We are staying at the hotel and the price is exorbitant for an evening of entertainment. Some people said they were given free tickets. How do we tap into that for a family of four? I wanted to have a true Hawaiian experience. If there are complimentary tickets to be had, please let me know how I can tap into them. We are going at the end of September.

The tickets that you are referring to could be the one that are given as an incentive to view the Hilton Grand Vacation. This would be your choice and could be what you have heard about.
