Well worth a visit

We visited the museum only to do the Doris Duke Islamic Art Tour , the tour was the highlight of our holiday but the museum was such a bonus! We can't wait to go back!

So much beauty! Honolulu is very luck to have this gem, filled with treasures from around the world. Much of the exhibits change but we found sketches by Goya, paintings by Picasso, folk art from around the Pacific and so much more. Just allow enough time to see it all!

Great theater. Safe neighborhood. Clean facilities. All good seats. Refreshments!! Say the first of the 15th annual Honolulu Jewish Film Festival. Good crowd. Great movie "Remember" with Christopher Plummer.

This Museum is challenging due to the extraordinary variety of the resident collection in addition to the "travelling" featured works. You really need to be observant to appreciate the displays featured by this Museum's displays. Totally worth the visit. I rate this as the best bang for your buck!!!

While this is a small museum there are some important Western paintings, Eastern Art, beautiful courtyards and a delightful outdoor cafe. This museum can also whisk you away via bus for a tour of the famous Doris Duke mansions with amazing Middle Eastern Art. Call ahead to make these arrangements.

This free museum focuses on the art and artists of Hawaii. This includes past and contemporary masters, plus potential future master as represented by current teenagers. This includes painting, crafts, and woodworking examples. We were particularly impressed with an 18" bowl that was so thin it was translucent. We suggest you visit and consider what might match your tastes. We... More

The ten dollar entry fee to this eclectic museum includes a shuttle ride and entry to the lovely Spaulding house and garden, now also a museum, ten minutes away. If you go at the right time, a docent leads a tour and even offers cookies and conversation. The museum has a variety of media and permanent and temporary collections displayed... More
