We just took a sunset sail today and it was not only the highlight of our trip, but definitely rates way up there as a very cool bucket list experience. We're only in Newport for a few days and we wanted to experience something truly Newport and thought, "What is more Newport than sailing?" After all it is the 'Sailing... More

This afternoon sail trip had a sign up sheet at the Hyatt. We arrived on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and since our room was not ready we went with Captain Mike on a 75 minute sail trip in the harbor and the bay. The conditions were fabulous and he is an expert sailor. Have us a tour of the area?... More

I just completed the 3 day basic sailing course over a long weekend, beginning on Friday, and ending on Sunday. The course exceeded my expectations... I felt like I learned a lot, and enjoyed every moment of it... My instructor was Mike, who is a seasoned sailor with decades of experience, and has a true talent for sharing his knowledge... More

We went on a 4pm sail with Mike, best decision we made that day! Mike is a great guy, very knowledgeable and nice. We were able to sail around the harbor area and Mike pointed out the sights and shared interesting facts about Newport. Call in advance to make sure the tour has openings, be sure to wear your sunscreen!

We went and in the end had a private tour for the price of a group tour. The captain was very nice and we had a fabulous time. Bring a camera because you will want to take pictures!

Yesterday my husband and I decided at the last minute to extend lunch in Newport to overnight in Newport. Being in Newport, we then decided if we could find a sailboat tour we would take it. My husband looked online and found Newport Sailing School and Tours, so we drove over to Goat Island to check it out. The boat... More

Prior to coming to Newport to attend a 2-week course at the Naval Station, I researched various sailing schools in Newport that offered sailing lessons over the weekend I was going to be here. I stumbled upon Newport Sailing School and Tours (NSST) and was initially impressed by its affordability, favorable reviews, and the fact that they had a course... More

To be in Newport and not go out on a sailboat more or less defeats the purpose of visiting Newport. I prefer smaller sailboats as you get a much better feel for the whole thing. So.. we were in Newport and the people Visitor's Center recommended these guys. It is a small place - it looks like they have two... More

I wanted my wife to have this experience because we always take the big sail boat trips with 15 to 30 people on them. I don't really consider those big boats sailing but more of a tourist activity sail. I wanted her to know what it feels like to sail a boat that holds 4 to 8 people and you... More
