Brilliant Art Deco Building with Presidential Statues and Monuments
Jul 2021 • Family
A brilliant building in the Art Deco style. It dominates the skyline. We visited to see the statues and monuments to American Presidents.

They have statues of President Grover Cleveland, President Millard Fillmore, and a massive monument to President William McKinley.

It’s a must visit

The main downside is parking is not visitor friendly - we could not find any short term parking so we pulled over and just took a few quick photos instead of visiting the area longer - the Mayor and Council can do better

No Much to see other than the observatory, the city is quiet with not much to do. i personally didn't like the experience, however everyone is different. I like a more lively city, with plenty to do.

We had come to Buffalo for an extended weekend to celebrate our anniversary. I am a planner and like to research different things to do. I found that the City Hall has and observation deck so I figured it would be a beautiful Skyview look over Buffalo. We arrived this morning to find out the observation deck was not only closed, but under construction. What a major disappointment after all the research I did to make this special. Not one word of this mentioned on any website I searched and researched. So so sad and upsetting.

Observation deck closed
Jun 2021 • Couples
This Art Deco beauty can only be admired from the outside as the observation deck and interior remain off-limits due to COVID. Oh well... Paid street parking is available nearby.

Great View
Jul 2019
Nice old historic building, great architecture, the best part on the very top is an observation deck that looks out over the city and lake Erie and Buffalo waterfront.

Architectural and cultural beauty!
Feb 2020
While there to attend a preservation board meeting in late February, I was astounded by the beauty of the lobby and the halls that I had access to. A movie, "Nightmare Alley", was being filmed there at the time and some of the floors were being transformed to look like a spooky hotel! The history of Buffalo is etched in the decor, with representations from the indigenous nations of the state and other historic events. I want to come back for a tour!

Worth the visit
Feb 2020 • Family
À Buffalo resident suggested we go to the top of City Hall to take in the views. It was a clear day so we parked in the nearby garage (about 3$) then headed across the street to City Hall.
After taking the elevator, we climbed a few flight of stairs. The view was great and it was a great and cheap way to spend 45 minutes.

Beautiful way to see the city
Aug 2019
You do not need to pay to go to the top of city hall as there is a free elevator to go check it out. It is quite beautiful up there and definitely worth doing. I wish we had known about the tours at city hall because the building is artistically intriguing and it would have been worth taking the tour.

Well organized and runs smoothly
Nov 2019
This is an informative and well run tour. It is worth going if for nothing else than the amazing view of the city and surrounding area from the observation deck.

Enlightening visit
Sep 2019
We were able to sign up for a guided tour at noon. Led by a former educator with an emphasis on the architecture, we were given an in depth tour. Walking to the observation tower was a highlight. Incredible views of the city. Best of all - it's free.
