A must see, beautiful and free tour!

This is a great piece of history, we went during Christmas time and it was all decorated. You can tour the building for free and self guided. We really enjoyed it.

We went during a weekday in April so not much was going on. We didn't attempt going into the courthouse but really enjoyed its stately presence and unique architecture as we walked along Main Street. An iconic view of a Midwest prairie town.

Nice little town. Was hesitant to snoop around inside, but apparently it's expected and we comed. The building has a beautiful staircase. It was Friday afternoon so no courts in session. Be sure to visit the old jail. Everyone was so friendly and did not seem at all put out by tourists tramping through the building. The county attorney was especially... More

Not sure if you can tour the inside or if it's used as an actual courthouse any longer (maybe county offices?), but it's a gorgeous building done by George Washburn and one of the iconic buildings in the Flint Hills.

We were simply on our way back from a lake trip and stumbled across this majestic surprise. The grounds the signs, the storyboards, and the courthouse itself were all delights!

If you are interested in historic sites, you don't want to miss this one. Beautiful renovated limestone courthouse with loads of character. The staircase is absolutely gorgeous. You feel transported in time as you climb to the upper level to visit the jail. The window on the 3rd floor seems to look out over the whole community.

I would go back to Cottonwood Falls just to walk up its main street. It's a handsome mix of fantastic mid-century and nineteenth century architecture with a lot of small bespoke businesses and a really good opportunity shop. People are friendly, there's some great old cars, and the brickwork in the beautiful wide main street is so well done. It's... More

In the state of Kansas on business and decided to stop by the small town of Cottonwood Springs to take in the sights. Beautiful courthouse with original architecture and still in use. I highly recommend stopping and taking in this beautiful structure!

If you get the chance, check ut the jail on the top floor-not a nice place to have to spend time. The woodwork, banisters, rails and trim are beautiful, the view out the front window overlooking the town is a great photo op.

the oldest courthouse in play west of the mississippi. Clean, close to the center of the city and a nice diversion.
