The Stones River National Cemetery is a breath-taking sight as you stand and realize how many lives were lost in just this one battle in the war between the states in America's history. It becomes so real when you look across and see the small white markers as far as you can see in every direction and realize that these... More

What a place to represent our fallen soldiers. Walk through and imagine what it must have been like for all these soldiers and the ages. This is well maintained and so thoughtful to give what we can to these families for their loved one.

Part of the Stones River Battlefield, this is the cemetery across the street. So much history and in a wonderful memorial. Highly recommend taking time out of your day.

Stones River National Cemetery is a very beautiful and somber place. It is beautifully maintained. A must see! Very interesting seeing the different dates, ages and home states of these heroic people who changed the face of our nation.

This is an amazing cemetery but it also is a very sobering reminder of how this war changed America. To see a lot of the dead soldiers graves, including so many unknown soldiers, really was a sobering experience. I was very much struck by this place. If you want a history lesson, go here and the visitor center and see... More

This is a must see for anyone. Very beautiful grounds in an area rich in Civil War history. If you know you will be visiting with children, take plenty of pennies, and do a google search of coins in military cemeteries.

I love visiting national cemeteries when traveling. One reason is due to my research on the USCT (United States Colored Troops) and often the national cemeteries are near or close to Civil War battlesite. Stones River National Cemetery is connected to Stones River National Battlefield. You can either walk across the street (be careful of traffic) from the main visitor's... More

This was incredible for our 8 year old, 18 year old and us. We will definitely go again and recommend it for those who enjoy visiting monuments and parks.

If you are visiting the Battlefield, make sure to stop here and pay your respects. It's a very good reminder of our history. It's right across the road from the visitors center. When we were there, there were almost no graves without pennies on them of those who had stopped to pay their respects.
