I took my 5 grand kids ranging in ages 3 to 17. They loved the zoo. Especially the 3 year old. I would definitely take my grandkids back to the luray zoo

This was a great place to take the kids. Lots of animals. The alligator feeding was educational as well as entertaining. I highly recommend the Luray Zoo.

We are members of the Virginia Marine Science and Living Science Museums but we had a much better experience here with our 2 and 3 year olds than any visit to those places. What we did was the ‘discovery tour’ that is a personal tour by the owner after the place closes. This is something between a zoo and a... More

This road side zoo was dirty and the animals seemed in horrible conditions. I should have been tipped off by the large no refunds sign and the smell when we walked in. The reptile area had extremely dangerous snakes (Large King Cobras) in dirty damaged cages and nothing in them but one stick I was seriously concerned for my kids... More

this little facility takes excellent care of the animals and is constantly evolving as cash flow allows improvements, staff is very nice as well and readily answers questions without seeming annoyed... best collection of snakes in mid-atlantic

This place was very clean and the animals seemed well cared for. Very nice zoo and they had a petting zoo area. Not a big snake fan but the variety of snakes was even amazing!!! Loved the alligators!

My family and I were in Lynchburg, VA this weekend when my son found this "rescue" zoo on the map. We drove 2.5 hours to help support this zoo as we like to support rescues and we have an awesome lion/tiger rescue here in Jacksonville that we like to visit. We walked into a room where 2 very large turtles... More

Got to meet the owner and talk with him about the snapping turtles. The alligator snapper is AMAZING. So impressed that someone would give what it takes to rescue and make sure these animals get to live the rest of their lives in peace and receive the care they deserve. Went with about 10 kids all 11 and under and... More

We had this zoo on our list of places to visit in the area. It looks kind of cheesy from the outside, so we skipped it on the intended day. The next day, however, we ended up with some extra time and decided to stop in. In spite of the touristy look on the outside, it is a very nice... More
