Ten Thousand Waves is inspired by the great Japanese mountain hot spring resorts. Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe, but only minutes from the National Forest, there is nothing quite like this on the North American continent. Among piñons and junipers are beautiful outdoor hot tubs and spa suites, world-class bodywork & skin care, and the amazing izanami restaurant. For a lucky few, it is the closest lodging to the Santa Fe Ski area.

We bought a package for our anniversary. Our couples massage was fantastic. It was 80 minutes and was just the right amount of time for us! One of the best massages I've had! The private soaking tub was in a secluded area and we also...More

I enjoyed the various services but wasn't able to use the common areas due to it being overcrowded. My private hot tub experience was mostly enjoyable. I did ask if the tubs were scrubbed in between customers and was told yes. However, there was hair...More

We're sorry that we were crowded when you visited. You'll be happy to know that we're in the process of adding two new hot tubs for communal use during busy times. Opening by August 1 or sooner, they will be spectacular! The entire volume of...More

We went for our anniversary and stayed in one of the rooms, had lunch and 2 spa treatments (1 each). Total bill +$800. The restaurant, hotel and spa is not integrated and it needs to be. Service was average for those prices and the included...More

Thanks for your nice comments! Sorry if you found the stairs scary--some consider it atmospheric! We do provide a complimentary shuttle from the parking area to the spa entrance--just look for the call box at the foot of the stairs next time.

This spa seemed a bit pretentious for the size and accomodations. I received an EXCELLENT therapeutic massage by Marcia. She was attentive to my needs and quite skilled in her art. I found it to be small in size and everything was squeezed on top...More

We're glad you liked your massage! We think we have the best therapists in the country. Sorry about the insensitive guest in your pool. We do have a communal bath where suits are required--you'd all be dressed alike there. Or you can choose a private...More

We had been intending to visit here for years. We waited too long. The entire complex is beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed time in a private pool, then went to our massages. Both of us were pleased, but the salt rub (my first) by Wayne...More

I've been going to The Waves for almost 20 years now. It used to be a really cool, affordable luxury, it got a little more pricey, but was still small enough to feel like a retreat. However, the last 2 years, the prices for treatments...More

This is one of my favorite places in Santa Fe, modeled after authentic Japanese tubs and saunas. Excellent massage therapists, and good eats, this is a place to unwind after a day of skiing or sightseeing.

Is there a way to enter the place and/or Spa without climbing those steps. Maybe parking on the higher level?

Of course. You can park on the upper level or use any of the call boxes in the lower lots to request a shuttle.
