If you come to santa fe, you MUST go to the plaza, just for the history if nothing else. Tons of history, lots of wonderful shops full of beautiful items, a great visitors center to answer any questions, and culture culture culture!

I love old plazas. They tell so much about the history of a place– the architecture, the layout of a public space, shows what was important at that time. This plaza, like many others in tourist towns, is all about extracting the most number of...More

When you visit Santa Fe, stop by the plaza everyday. Natives lay out beautiful jewelry for sale under the porch of the Governors Palace. Artists representing different Pueblos throughout the region are there on different days so you should see something different each day.

We were wonderfully surprised at the fiesta going on in the plaza during our visit. Many local artisan and food vendors. Charming and picturesque. Many local flavor restaurants surround the area. Plenty to enjoy while strolling the cobblestones.

The Plaza continues to provide tourists a mecca for pricey goods. There are dozens of jewelry and Indian arts shoppes. The local Indians offer their handmade jewelry & artifacts at hefty prices. Eateries galore at reasonable prices.

Surrounded 360 degrees by shops and restaurants this plaza sits in the center of Old Town Santa Fe. A fun place to take a break from your walk around town and do some people watching.
