The McNay Art Museum is a great destination for a weekend afternoon for families and friends. It is easy to get out there -- it is just a 30 minutes bus ride from downtown San Antonio or a 20 minutes car ride. There are lots...More

If you are staying in and around the riverwalk this is very close by and well worth a couple of hours to see. Great works and breathtaking garden. Just lovely.

High-lite of our trip to Austin. The original hacienda was an amazing work of art in itself. The collections were excellent and the choice for groupings (landscapes, portraits) of various genres was inspired. The security staff was friendly and informative and heightened our appreciation of...More

This museum was beautiful. Although other museums were more popular with local people, I took a chance with this one. I was not disappointed. It was thought provoking as well as educational. My teens liked it as well as my parents. Kids under age 19...More

we visited this museum again recently and it is greatly expanded from the last visit (25+ years ago). Very nice collection of art. The outside areas are beautiful.

As art museums go this one is nice. Some I don’t understand, some I think are only for the artsy - fartsy folk. This one is down to earth from a normal woman who was very generous. Wood working was a plus for me

I rather arrived at the McNay by default because it was at the end of the route of a bus I was on. I enjoyed looking at the art on display but for me it was over shadowed by the building itself. I was wowed...More

The ground alone make the visit a great experience. The blend of the historic house and modern additions create a wonderful series of textures and aesthetics. The sculpture and fountains are elegant. The collection may not be deep, but there are many, many wonderful works!

This museum had everything you could hope for. First, the main part of the museum is in an old traditional Spanish style mansion and the grounds were beautiful. It has some Renoir, Picasso, Mattise, and Van Gogh paintings. The sculptures included modern art but also...More

I went to the McNay to see a special exhibit of African American art and was so impressed I bought the book. I used to go the Mcnay on a regular basis and need to start doing so again. This is a wonderful museum.

It’s around $20 for Adults and $15 for active duty military. My suggestion is to visit during free events and free general admission days! It’s not really worth the $20 entrance fees.
