This was on the trail of Missions to see. They are trying to [reserve these Mission, and there is 300 year old history at each of them. Many have original paint still on the wall to see ho they could duplicate so well. Most of...More

We went there just to say we’d gone. It’s strikingly different from the other missions—the white one. Other than that it’s surrounded by badly recreated grounds. You walk a rectangle with very few places to interact. Meh.

Part of the Missions Trail, this was probably the least 'attractive' stop due to the condition of the structures, or lack thereof. Nevertheless, historical and breathtaking, considering the overall historical importance. Church was not open at the time I visited. Plenty of friendly cats around...More

I really liked biking to the Missions, and San Juan was the second one I went to. I find the churches to be beautiful and am impressed by how large the areas are. Out of the four Missions, San Juan was my least favorite. No...More

Touring the four missions in San Antonio was a great day activity. It is amazing to see all the buildings and stone work. Hard to imagine the original day to day life that went on so long ago.

San Juan is one of the four mission of the trail. Unfortunately, they have the church locked due to vandalism. You will not be able to go inside any of the structures. The grounds are well kept and very informative. Worth a stop, but not...More

This was nice seeing and to understand some of the history around the mission. It’s easy to get to and parking and access was free. It was not crowded but I imagine the summer is much better in seeing this place.

Mission San Juan is part of the mission trail, supervised by the National Park Service. There is free parking here. The place is quite historic. When I went there was a docent to provide information. There is also a nearby walking trail.

On a Thursday afternoon, my husband and I enjoyed touring the 4 Missions along Mission Road. Mission San Juan was our least favorite but still great to see. The mission does not have a visitor center on site. Touring this mission grounds is self-guided and...More
