We visited the River Walk while in San Antonio. It's a chanelled river with restaurants on either side and gift shops everywhere. The walk would have been pleasant if not for the dozens of homeless camping out on the benches along the river eating and...More
We stayed right on the Riverwalk. There are lots of restaurants/bars where you can eat right beside the river and watch the boats going by. The ducks will beg for food! The architecture and design of the buildings and bridges are very unique. It’s a...More
Weather you looking for shopping, resturants, or even just a fun bar to hang out in, the River Walk will not dissapoint. We really enjoy going during the Christmas season to enjoy the lights and festivities going on all around this scenic plaza.
Begin your RIVERWALK experience at the Alamo, then cross the street and walk down the steps between waterfalls and through the Hyatt Hotel to emerge on a lively river scene with shopping, dining, music, boat rides along the river that flowed between the Alamo defenders...More

Are you looking to stay downtown or out of the city? First, I really recommend making reservations early because The Alamo Bowl books up most hotels quickly, at a premium. If you want to stay near the historic Riverwalk (walking around the city is beautiful) I love the Menger and LaMansion. There’s so many places out of the city too, it just depends on how much you want to spend or if you’re looking for nice or just a place to shower and lay your head! Friedrich Wilderness Park is gorgeous. Crownridge Canyon has four trails in its 200 acre preserve. I don’t know if this helps but I hope you enjoy and see the Alamo if you have a chance!
