We loved our trip to historical Salem via the Ferry. Trip was entertaining and beautiful. The crew even offered my mom some Ginger to ease her stomach. Highly recommend.

This is a great way to travel from Boston to Salem and back. The boat is pleasant and clean with plenty of seating. It takes only 55 minutes to do the trip. We all very much enjoyed the trip.

There is a parking garage next to the Aquarium (a great take for families) which is next to the dock where you get the ferry to Salem. It is not inexpensive, but there is a cap (which we hit) of approx. $40 for the 10 hours... More

Not sure, but for one night parking was free. My guess is yes based on the fact that it didn't look like they scrutinized the Salem parking.
