Our group was excited to see a live performance of "Cry Innocent" about the trial of Bridget Bishop. The actors were amazing. They played multiple parts and were right on with their characters not missing a beat. What made the performance even better was that the actors got the audience involved. The actors not only had to know their lines... More

I wanted to like this performance more than I actually did because I think this show has a lot of potential. However, I don't know if audience participation is the best way to go. One guy in our audience was a real jerk and kept trying to interfere with the performers, and others kept trying to ask questions that would... More

My daughter and I were excited to get a chance to see Cry Innocent while in Salem the weekend before Halloween, but found it was not at all what we expected. Town Hall acoustics leave a lot to be desired and one of the main actors was very difficult to understand. The whole show seemed to have a mocking tone... More

Located in Salem Old Town Hall which in itself is excellent and free, it has a step by step history of the existence of Salem and urge people to support it as it relies on donations. Upstairs is the performance of Cry Innocent. The actors do an excellent job from moving from the street to upstairs in multiple roles. The... More

We were a part of the 'congregation' for Bridget Bishop's questioning. The actors performed very well and were quick on their feet to answer questions in character. Definitely worth seeing.

The play started out in the middle of the Essex pedestrian mall. We saw Goody Bishop being accused of witchcraft and taken into custody. We followed them to the town hall (which is actually in Salem's Old Town Hall) and took our seats to be on the jury. It was amazing how just a few actors could so perfectly portray... More

There's nothing like being a tourist in Salem and seeing puritans wandering around asking if you've heard the daily news. Its quite a surprise when there's suddenly shouting and a scuffle breaks out. It appears that someone's been arrested and should you follow the town crier, you find yourself being called for jury duty.

This is a live, interactive play that starts near the Visitors Center in Salem and then progresses to the Old Town Hall. The actors start and stay in character. You can ask them anything and it is amusing to get their replies "in character." When we were in Salem it was almost 100 degrees and the actors wore costumes true... More
