Really enjoyed a walk through the Wetlands today. A great variety of ducks. However, when we returned to our car , the car beside us had been broken into. Back window smashed, front door lock broken and car rifled through. What a shame.

Even though it was afternoon on a hot summery day, we decided to check out this place. We're glad we did. It's a man-made wetlands area, using treated water from the nearby treatment facility to create a wildlife habitat. There are two large ponds to...More

We went here with a professional bird guide and glad we did. He pointed out birds we would have never seen, in addition to other wild life at home here.

This is actually a water treatment facility, but it's also a lovely wetlands area with good walking paths, lots of vegetation and a favorite spot for bird spotting. There are two nice walking trails, several viewing areas overlooking the wetlands areas and signage identifying some...More

The Tucson Water Co has set up flat trails around ponds that take treated wastewater and bring it to the stage where it can be used. An easy, interesting walk of about a mile with good informational signage. As an extra benefit there are lots...More

A great variety in such a small area. Walking trails were in great shape and easy to negotiate. Saw so much wildlife; from Ruddy, Wood and Cinnamon Teal Ducks as well as Sora and Yellow Warblers. Enjoyed it very much. Next time we’ll do the...More

For great birding in all seasons, this is one of the best spots in Tucson. Winter is a great time for ducks and grebes as well as wading birds. The trails are flat and easy to walk and take you through both wetlands and desert...More

The Sweetwater Wetlands are easily accessible off of I-10 in northwest Tucson. There is ample parking and nice restrooms at the beginning of the short trail system. There are a few good loop trails around a couple of ponds. The reeds and cat tails are...More

I try to visit Sweetwater every time I come to Tucson, and love it's proximity to town and great diversity of bird life. I also meet many friendly people. However, I was, unfortunately, one of the many people that have had cars broken into and...More
