We had the whole gang: grandma, 2 adults, and 4 kids. They were very accommodating and got everyone on safely. Many of us are first time riders and had a great time. I know we are not in the "wild" but we wanted to be that way. We meandered through the hills near the hotel and that was great for... More

I wanted to trail ride while away on business and missing my own horse. Having never ridden in Arizona and being from Ohio, I knew that it was going to be a different experience with challenging terrain (rocks, cactus, and misc. wildlife). I was not disappointed. There were mostly beginners in the group that rode out. This included two children... More

Roberta did a great job at with the sunset tour. WE Stayed at Westward Look resort but drove to other location for the sunset tour horseback ride. It was worth it. While part of the tour was in a "wash" - basically a small canyon behind the hotel - it went up to a ridge area for the sunset and... More

The Spanish Trail Outfittlers was literally a stone's throw from our hostelry, the Hacienda del Sol.So this extracurricular activity was very convenient and complemented well our stay at the historic inn. The horses are very well taken care(well shod, well fed, well groomed, well equipped). The rides we had were very pleasant as the horses were calm and cooperative. WE... More

Girlfriend and I did the sunset tour. Brochure stated "scenic trails through Sonoran desert". It started behind the resort and basically was riding through a neighborhood. There were condos and homes in every direction (see pic below). Also, I ended up on a donkey. Definitely not worth the time or cost. If I were to do again, would choose some... More

My wife and I went on this sunset trail ride together at the Westward Look location (stables located behind the resort - which we loved also). Luckily we planned things right for a cool afternoon and with just two other riders and our fantastic guide Dina we rode around the resort into an amazing long but not steep canyon. Our... More

We were staying at Haceinda del Sol and decided to do the 1.5 hour ride. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The location at the resort was convenient. Everything else was pretty underwhelming. They gave my husband and I both giant, slow mules, not pretty horses. This was probably the single biggest disappointment. When you go on a horseback riding... More

I went to the other location on hacienda del Sol rd. I went for a ride with a few people. The view and scenery weren't exactly what I was hoping for but it was still very nice. I had a great time and would go again. Our guide was very helpful and told us a bit about the history of... More
