This is a gem of a hike. Recommend leaving early and avoiding the afternoon sun. The hike takes you back and forth through a river seven times in and seven times out. I fell 3 times. I dried off quickly. The falls was spectacular and many people were swimming in the pool below the lower falls. There really are seven... More

We parked at the second parking lot and took the trail down to the water. Go right and follow the trail down further to see a larger falls. Wear light hiking shoes for grip, as the rocks can be slick.

Follow Reddington Road until it turns into a dirt road. It is a short way before you see the first parking area. We parked at this one. There is a trail-head right across the parking lot. It is a really short hike, maybe half a mile, from the trail-head to the stream. But after you reach the stream you need... More

Tanque Verde Falls was beautiful today. All the recent rain ensured we had water in the wash. We parked at the first parking lot on the left and took the trail down. Its a very quick 15-30 walk to get to the water. This was more of a "walk" than a hike. It is beautiful with the canyon walls, boulders... More

Make sure you take advantage of all three trails that go down to the water. Great hikes with dogs that get hot at any time of year!

Its only a short little hike downhill to get there. Great scenery, plant life is gorgeous for Arizona anyway. The river is the main attraction but it makes for some pretty pictures.

Its a moderate hike but well worth it. Very beautiful in the early morning. Pack a lite meal and extra H2o spend a little time. You will be glad you did.

We took our 6 and 14 year old grandchildren on this hike and they loved it. It is steep with lots of loose rocks, but the wash with all the large rocks to climb on are great fun. Can't wait to go back in the summer and splash in the pools! We went on New Years Eve- a beautiful day... More

While visiting family nearby for the holidays, some of us decided to take a hike near the Tanque Verde Falls. We had a large, mixed group with some young kids and a senior so we did not hike up to the upper falls. But we did hike down into the canyons where there were some "small rapids," pools, and even... Great place to visit in Tucson! The hike down to the water is very quick, but you can make it a longer hike by going up or down stream to the falls. I wrote a blog post about this with more info: http://tryniakaufman.com/2015/03/05/tanque-verde-falls-hike-in-tucson/
