Fantastic drive on a beautiful fall day with visiting friends. The scenery and Vistas are breath taking. The hoodoos are mesmerizing. Plan to stop and hike the many mountain trails available. When we go up to Mount Lemmon we always enjoy a meal in Summerhaven. It is a must when visiting Tucson.

This is one of the most ecological diverse drives. The vegetation starts out with cacti and desert and at the end of this 26-drive, one finds oneself among pine trees, fir trees and snow. It is a beautiful drive with amazing vistas and points to get out and hike. One caution: if you are prone to car sickness this is... More

We took ithe drive, which is amazing. Make sure to stop at the viewing points--layers of mountains, the waterfalls were running with snow melt, snow on the ground in the higher elevations, gorgeous pine forests, and beauty everywhere. Stop at the restaurant in Summerhaven too. It's the only game in town so the chef could have been lackadaisical, but he... More

What a beautiful drive. We drove this road in January. Lots of snow at the top. It was a fun change from the desert.

Our drive was very comfortable and visually breathtaking. If you do this drive, you must download the U of A's narration of the four "life zones". It is a perfect accompaniment to the drive; it explains everything you're seeing - rock formations, cactus, forest fire remnants, animal habitats and much more! Be sure to dress warmly for the top -... More

If you want to leave the city behind, this might be the place. For us, it was a fun afternoon trip, with stops to look at rock formations and hoodoos. Windy Point was especially nice, even if windy. It can be a relatively short trip, or just a trailhead away from an adventure.

Travel to scenic heights, stunning views especially at sunset, find shady tall trees and cool summer temps.
