The drive up to the top on Mount Lemmon offers several viewpoints where you can see Tuscon and the valley below. There's a good restaurant at the ski area, and it's a good place for lunch.

What a break from the desert. The drive is very nice and the views are wonderful. A lot of pullouts for those who want to take the view in. Drove up on a Monday in September and we were the only ones on the road....More

From 2500 elevation to 8000 plus at the top. Many different levels of different types of vegetation as you climb. Many overlooks for pictures. Amazing rock formations all along the road.

This is a beautiful drive high up on the mountain. Be sure to stop along the way to take in all the views!

What more can I say. The views are unique...starting with the Saguaro cactus, then the rock firmations, then the waterfalls...then the beautiful trees. Weather is cooler than Tucson. Beautiful getaway.

You start in the sonoran desert in Tucson with its characteristic saguaro cacti. As you drive up the paved two-lane road to the top, you pass thru various habitats until you reach the snow covered peaks. It is like driving from Tucson to northern Canada....More

I love this trip! I mostly travel by motorcycle. The cool air and the trees are fantastic, and it's so close to Tucson.

Arizona's sky islands are something to behold. Mt. Lemmon is an easy one to get to. Driving up while listening to the app created for it by the University of Arizona was fabulous - interesting info on 4 different climate zones (like driving from Mexico...More

Great views from the car. Very short walking distance if you choose to dine at the lodge. Great food.

I would say from about one hour after sunrise to about one hour before sunset local Tucson time. There is not a toll to travel the scenic route, just a lot of curves and beautiful vistas to look out over.

Windy Point about 1/2 way up. The are 4 campgrounds all with restrooms. Also lookouts near the top and Marshall Gulch. Probably 10 or more places.
