Standard church that is honestly a little boring despite all of the hype surrounding it. Go here if you've got nothing else to do.

Built in the 18th century this is an amazing, beautiful church still holding services. See the video and go on a tour to get the most of your visit. The murals and altar inside and the domes, carving and arches are quite unique. It is...More

This stately Catholic mission, originally built in 1692 and rebuilt in 1783-1797, is known as The White Dove of the Desert because its white stucco architecture stands out against the desert scenery. Located 10 miles south of Tucson, it is one of the best tourist...More

Here we have a working mission and also a historical attraction. The mission, currently under renovation, is a superb example of the arts of the Spanish missionaries--it's got gorgeous architecture, sumptuous paintings, interesting statuary. The grounds are gardened with native plants and quite well tended,...More

So glad we squeezed a quick trip to see this magnificent mission. We missed out on a docent-led tour but the video about all the restoration was very educational and interesting. Great way to learn about some history of the area. Neat gift shop too!

A real jewel on the Tucson landscape, founded by the Spanish as a catholic mission in 1692. The present church dates back to 1797 and is the oldest intact European structure in Arizona. The church stands in stark relief on the native Indian reservation; so...More

Gorgeous old mission church, with great tour guides who explain the fascinating history. Excellent crowd-flow/control on busy days. Local native American food available on the property. A must-see.

We recently visited the mission on Friday morning. The crowd was not large and we were able to visit at our own pace. Very beautiful mission from the 1600's with ornate walls and ceiling that truly impresses. Even though it was in the upper 90's...More
