A nice art house cinema that show offbeat films, including animation, foreign, and children's movies. You can eat there and they serve beer. The seating consists of comfy couches for two and more typical seating. A fun time.

The folks here were very friendly and helpful. Served up a great meatball panini while we were waiting for film to begin. Self serve popcorn a nice touch. Comfortable couches in an intimate setting for viewing a movie. Would recommend to anyone. Either to eat or watch a film. Or both!!! Outside and inside seating available...

The was part of the tour of Rhode Island School of Design by our grandson who attends as a grad student. Very historic theater, very comfortable seating. Theater is also utilized by RISD for some classes. Enjoyed a spinach and brie pannini. Delicious combination for the panini. Nice assortment of beverages and microbrews too. Small seating area for dining. The... More

A gem. Even priced cheaper than the typical cinemas. Friendly staff; clean theatre (no sticky furniture or floors); and good selection of treats including draft beer, sandwiches, bagels, coffees, and popcorn - the latter is refill as many times as you like and you season it your way. The other positives is that about a third of the seats are... More

I stumbled in here to take in a movie during a couple of free hours and could not have been happier. Great staff, lovely movie, nice space and - when I got out of the movie - I had a delicious sandwich! If I ever find myself back in RI, I would look forward to going back!

This place is very cool and different from any classic café. It's got its own cinema, and cinema themed locals. The panini they serve is fantastic! Only draw back is my wish for a more enthusiastic and friendly staff.

This is a fun way to view a movie. Usually featuring clectic shows, easy-going crowd in the heart of Providence.

I have been going to the Cable Car Cinema since the '80's. It is an art house cinema, playing the lesser known, low budget independent films. Many of the films also have an international flavor. Before the show you can grab a little something to eat or drink at the cafe. You will always find a place to sit down,... More

I LOVE the Cable Car. Couch seating, indie flicks, and paninis. Plus, well, wine. Especially in the winter, this is my favorite place to hide out. Have a hot chocolate and get comfortable with an intimate movie crowd. It's my favorite theatre in Rhode Island.

Great food, beverages, and movies. Order a panini, snack, and beer, take a seat in a cozy, comfortable love seat, and enjoy a top movie, all for a most reasonable price. Wonderful place to thoroughly enjoy a causal dinner and a movie. We are sure to go back (hopefully often).
