First time for my husband

My husband was a first time rider, the staff were so attentive and answered all our questions. We both had a great time!

We rode with our guide, Tex, for the 2 hr ride. This ride takes you up on their ranch to elevations where you can see lovely views of Estes Park below. The ride is not in the RMNP - these were closed for the season when we traveled, so were not an option for us. Our kids are 10 and... More

This was my second visit to Sombrero, I returned because my first experience was great. I was paired up with the best horse, Sunny. She was very gentle, well behaved and other then the occasional stop for grass, I didn't need to guide her at all. Our guide was fairly new to the area so we missed out on the... More

I took my British husband there for our 6th wedding anniversary, He hadn't been on a horse before and the last time I was on horse, was at Sombrero Stables in 1976, during the Big Thompson Flood! It was just as I remembered, minus the flood part.

We did a three hour ride into the Roosevelt National Forest. So much fun. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable and the horses were perfect. A wonderful way to spend a morning or afternoon in Estes.

My husband and I decided to go for a ride, and Sombrero Ranch was close to Appenzell Inn, where we were staying. We chose a two hour ride, which I enjoyed, but my husband was really sore afterwards! I had a really sweet horse, Abe, who seemed like he had trouble walking on the larger rocks on the trail -... More

I went on the 2 hour trail and thoroughly enjoyed it! We saw a huge male elk and also a coyote hunting for groundhogs. The horses were great and easy to handle. The staff fully informed us beforehand on everything we should do to have a good ride and also gave us lots of cool/fun info during the trail. The... More

Our experience with Sombrero was great! We have a 7 year old and 4 year old. I was a little nervous when they said our 4 year old would ride by herself. They were super sensitive to her needs and had her close by the trail guide. I felt super comfortable. They also provided the option to wear helmets. Where... More

My girlfriend and I chose a four hour trail ride, and what an incredible experience. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful people, and were genuine in their desire to make the experience a positive one. Additionally during our sign in, we heard the staff going to great lengths to make some last minute accommodations for a local wedding... More

My husband and I, along with our daughters (ages 6 and 9) did the 2-hour ride, and had a wonderful time. Our guide, Brynn, was absolutely fantastic with the zillions of questions my daughters had for her. She was very engaging with them, and incredibly patient, asking them things like what they want to be when they grow up, etc.... More
