Our family of 5 (3 preteen and teen boys) went for a half day fly fishing session. We had 2 guides and they were great. The equipment was quality and in good condition. The location (just inside RMNP) was just picture perfect. I would suggest that you request RMNP if that is where you want to go. We were definitely... More

My wife and I decided to try fly fishing, almost on a whim. While at dinner, we booked a trip for the following afternoon - no problem. It was just the two of us with our guide Tim, who was really helpful and a great coach. Neither of us were experienced and he made it easy. We both caught trout,... More

The middle aged man behind the counter was not polite or willing to make small talk. I would have spent more time and money here if the customer service had been better. Not sure why they weren't more helpful, a younger gentleman (mid 20's?) tried to make up for it, but I didnt feel like supporting this business at that... More

I am sorry you were not able to have small talk when visiting our shop in August. August is a very busy time of the year and perhaps the gentleman behind the counter was trying to assist multiple customers and didn't take the time for small talk. We strive to meet all our customers needs and welcome you to give... More

Everything from booking to saying goodbye was top notch. We booked 9 months in advance due to the popularity of Kirks. My husband and I are from Louisiana and fresh and salt water fish but wanted to try our hand at fly fishing. We were paired with Mo, and it just couldn't have been better. Mo is quite an endearing... I booked Kirks Fly Shop for a guided hike to Sky Pond. This hike was extremely important as I planned to propose to my now fiancè at The Loch on our way up. Jenna was AMAZING ! Booking was super easy over the phone (we are from Boston) and significantly cheaper from some of the other guides I spoke to,... More

We had a great experience fly fishing with Matt! He was a great teacher and guide. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time and caught fish! Would highly recommend including fly fishing on your trip to Estes Park.

My wife and I have visited Estes Park for many years, but never tried out fishing. The staff at Kirks were very friendly and helpful. We took the 2 hour class and 2 hour fishing trip. Jerry was awesome. He went through all the basics of fly fishing with us and showed us what to watch for and where to... More

From the owner, equipment provided, to the guide... the overall experience was top drawer. Provided with great equipment including Sage One Rods, Simms wading boots, and Orvis waders, we started the day right on time. With the help of a great guide, Tom, completed a Colorado Grand Slam, catching all four native species, including Brook Trout, Brown Trout, Greenback Cutthroats... More

I signed up for a 2 hr. sunset hatch trip, and was told to be at Kirks shop by 5:45 pm. My wife and I arrived early and were ready to go "on time",. Our guide, Josh; drove us to the Big Thomson River, on the water by 6:10. Had good instruction since it had been 12 years since I... More

Anthony, Yes, we should have adjusted the start time to give you another 20 minutes of good fishing. With the cloud cover, darkness came faster. We would like to offer you a repeat trip at no charge to give you additional fishing time. More

They know the spots where the fish are biting, and sell most anything you need. If you are a novice and do not want to purchase, they also rent equipment, and do tours.
