This is a great day's outing with spectacular scenery, quaint towns, friendly people along the way. One glaring problem...the road surface from Meeker Lodge to Longs Peak Inn is HORRIBLE and a disgrace perpetrated by the CDOT. Promised resurfacing in 2017 was incomplete, the worst...More

Driving down this beautiful road made us want to move to Colorado! This is a very easy drive, so those who are unfamiliar with driving on the right (like me!) will encounter no problems.

If you like to meander, take this Byway and enjoy some fabulous fall color in season. Be aware others have the same idea so you have to be careful at certain spots, as some folks don't have much common sense on the road. But very...More

This is the route to take from Denver to Estes Park. Such a beautiful drive and it seemed a less rushed way to Estes Park from Denver. Slow done, take your time. Enjoy the views of RMNP.

We traveled to Estes in late September 2017 and took this route. An absolutely beautiful drive. We just missed the peak colors but the drive was stunning nonetheless. We will make our way back to Estes a little earlier next September. This drive is worth...More

We love this place...... every time I travel to CO, I make my way to Estes Park to pass over the Rocky Mountain Park. Lots to see!

You must do this. The drive is amazing. It's a full day but worth the time spent. I've don't this drive multiple times and have loved it every time. Guaranteed to see wild life somewhere. Moose, deer and marmots.

Absolutely beautiful drive. Did it in late spring planning to go back next year in autumn to see the leaf colors.

You'd better know how to drive and not over-use your brakes if you take this byway. It is gorgeous and well worth it!

This is our normal route south from Estes Park to the rest of Colorado. There is a lot of great scenery, especially when the leaves are turning, or there is snow on the mountains. Also a lot of interesting history in this area. You can...More

Regarding a previous reply, the Peak to Peak highway does NOT close "due to snow". It is not a seasonal road. Also, read this review by TA member CMN 14: We took this drive from Central City to Estes Park in a large... More

Yes there is smoke haze. There are webcams for Estes Park & RMNP but TA won't let me post the link. Just Google. In the future, you'll get quicker replies if you post in the Estes Park forum.

There are no hot springs in this area. You really should ask your questions in the forums, not here.
